"Call the Police!"

We were receiving abuse at the Church gate this week. I called the police -- or tried to. The telephone just rang and rang. I called armed security (the Church hires 24-hour armed security). They said, “Sorry, Sir, all our vans are on call-out.” There never was a response. OBSERVATION: This was not an emergency -- but there have been some. For instance, I was assaulted in the Church garden, and locked myself into the Church. It took two hours before there was a response. The man who assaulted me was still there when the police arrived (he was arrested). Troublemakers taunt you: “Call the police! Call the police!”
