After our vestry lock was either hacked out or screwed out one time too many, a past caretaker of the Church came up with this solution. He covered the area with a thick brass plate embedded in the door, secured it with large screws, and filed the tops off. This arrangement has held for about fifteen years now. OBSERVATION: Since then, we have also installed an electronic alarm system, hired armed security, and improved perimeter defences.
