Parents often face the question as to whether a son or daughter should stay at home, or move out, or on. I encouraged son M. to get his own pad after he returned from Europe, and there are a few reasons for this: 1. I see much value in encouraging practical independence. Put differently, I have too often seen dependence which I consider has considerably diminished people's potential. Also 2. my late wife Mirjam told me that M. should become independent. 3. Son M. himself wants to become independent. And 4. we are both shaping new lives now, in quite different ways. OBSERVATION: However, while M. has his own pad now, he still hangs around me for most of the time. It is a transitional period. That's another photo of him moving.
