Here's another post I didn't post -- four years ago. I would guess I didn't post it because I hesitated to express discouragement or disorientation:
I was disheartened about ministry this weekend. Not because it hasn't been going well. Not because there has been any headwind. It has been, I think, because of the extraordinary chaos of ministry -- on top of the "background chaos" that normally is our Church. There are times in ministry when there is no way that a minister can meaningfully and thoughtfully address all that chaos -- or stand back and see a big picture. Our secretary, too, called me this morning, and said: "I can get nothing done. It's a continual stream of interruptions."
