Being weary tonight, here's an old post, four years old -- one I didn't publish at the time, perhaps because my exasperation was all too evident:
Truly, I’m tired of having my ministry disrupted by no-goods. Lately, my tolerance threshold has been crossed. Today a special Communion Service was disrupted. My usual “Let’s do this later” approach failed. I spoke to the disrupter -- kindly: “This service is about the sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ, it’s not about you.” But it was clear that we couldn’t continue -- so I had him removed from the Church. Someone said to me afterwards: “Under any circumstances, it was a tall order to deal with that.” And someone said: “But it was about him -- it was about God so loved the world.”
NOTE: However, four years ago was not the same as today. Things changed in our suburb with the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
