Finances And Faith

In all of the recent ministers' meetings I have attended, the tension between finances and faith has been present. In one case, after great frustration, this led to a minister asking for the accountant's resignation. The "finance people" in a Church essentially have a job of control -- yet through this, there is the danger that they may lose the faith perspective. Then, the minister or ministry team essentially have a job of calling people to faith -- yet through this, there is the danger that they may "lose their head". One thing seems sure: one should not swing to the extremes.
