Sound Level Of A Traditional Church

Recently I kicked off my new hobby by recording the sound level at Hillsong. This was ... very impressive. This morning I recorded the sound level inside my own Church. This was 96.3 decibels maximum where the minister stands (about as loud as a subway gets), or a calculated 91.3 decibels maximum for any member (about as loud as the inside of a bus). OBSERVATION: This would surely be typical of "traditional" or so-called "blended" worship such as ours. I was surprised that the sound level was this high. It's about the level at which sustained exposure begins to affect one's hearing (according to gcaudio.com).
