Leadership and Sin

The Bible's priorities are surprising, sometimes. In Numbers Chapter 8, the Bible describes how the servants in God's house were given their first orders. They were told nothing about spiritual programmes, worthy behaviour, pastoral duties, proclaiming the truth ... The things that matter so often to us did not matter for them. Instead they were told several times about sin, and many times about cleansing from sin (suggesting that they would need it)! This was their own sin for the most part, rather than the people's sin, or the nation's. OBSERVATION: It would seem therefore that the message is: the priority for service in God's house is to deal with sin which has been or is being committed.
