Wife E and I spent some time this weekend with the Church in the Karoo -- with the Chairman of the Board and his wife, who are in high old age now. It was a warm and constructive visit. The Church is governed by the Board -- which does not include the minister. I asked the Chairman: "Is the Church's future secure?" "Yes," he said. "Is this on paper?" I asked. "Yes," he said. "Absolutely." That was good enough for me. OBSERVATION: Sometimes Churches have not set course for the future, in the event that something should go wrong.
