Knifed

A brother of wife E -- a brother in the sense that he was one of her household -- was knifed yesterday, up on the plateau which was E's childhood home. First reports were that he was dead. I heard the report at 7:00 pm. A message was relayed to a hospital 50km / 30mi east, and an ambulance dispatched, which reached the plateau at 11:00 pm. In the meantime, people scrambled to find transport, and got him over a long pass south. He was admitted in a serious condition to a small-town hospital -- but as I write this post, he has made a good recovery.
