Leadership is a big subject in seminaries -- in fact, in the Bible. I had a brief discussion this week with a theological student, and gave him my own four diagnostic questions for reading leadership verses in the Bible:
• Does God act here?OBSERVATION: I was surprised by my own questions, when I looked up the passage in which David describes how he killed a lion and a bear (1 Samuel 17:32-37). What was he thinking? We don't know. But we do know how God fit in.
• Does man act here?
• Does God take the initiative here?
• Does man take the initiative here?
