In November last year, I put out my draft metaphysic "Everything, Briefly" to publishers and agents on the one hand, and (mostly) philosophers on the other. I happen to have another book in hand, which is the story of wife E and me -- and on that one, there seems to be consensus among critics. But on my metaphysic, opinion seems polarised. One wouldn't think that people are reading the same book. This morning I received further comments -- preliminary comments -- which are positive. Above all: "It is very clearly written." OBSERVATION: All in all, I would characterise the comments as hopeful, in some cases very encouraging indeed. I have received a tentative proposal for publication, too.
