Marriage Counselling

The author of a well known premarital counselling course (Building Your Marriage Upon The Rock) wrote to me: "I don't know how pastors can cope with all the heartache they witness. I'm also wondering or rather amazed with your experiences as a pastor, with so many people coming to you with severe marriage problems. It would seem to me that you would know all this stuff backwards and forwards." OBSERVATION: While it was not always so, I am confident now in marriage counselling, and have seen many breakthroughs. It is true that marriage counselling may be rough. It may not be a polite conversation in the minister's vestry. In one situation, a husband was threatening his wife with a gun. Ultimately, however, every breakthrough is the Lord's.

Hello Thomas,
I hope all is well with you.
Someone from SA just emailed me, and that got me thinking of you. I did a search and found your blog, and upon browsing your posts, came across this one with reference to our book.
A pastor here in the U.S. (as well as my wife and others) suggested I write a marriage workbook.
I got a few chapters into it and, put the whole idea on the shelf.
If you would like to read a few chapters and give feedback, I’ll send them as an attachment.
In Christ,

Mike Williamson

Thank you for the note, Mike, and apologies for the delay replying. I couldn't find your address. Will you e-mail me at scarboro@iafrica.com I don't think I am in a position to do a copy edit at the moment, but would be glad to share first impressions.
