A deaconess said to me recently: "Our Church is not united. The respect is gone. People actually talk the minister down -- or they rail at him, then turn and walk out. It's unthinkable." I asked her what the problem was. "He's different," she said. "He's not like his predecessor. But one minister doesn't have the strengths of the next. Each his own." I cast it in spiritual terms: it's about a minister's gifting and calling. What did God give him for the job? OBSERVATION: Not that every minister has gifting and calling. However, that is what one needs to discern. Those who fail to think of it may be in spiritual darkness.
