Popular Sermon

I took a look this morning at my Urban Sermons (see the right hand column) to see what movement there was there. One sermon is way ahead of the rest: 2 Chronicles 25. This surprises me. It is about King Amaziah, of whom the Bible's verdict is: "He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord." But this seems a strange statement, as his reign was filled with (spiritual) contradictions and mistakes. OBSERVATION: I wondered why this sermon is so popular. Perhaps because it surveys the (spiritual) purpose of our lives. Perhaps because it correlates our spiritual condition to our success. Perhaps because this very flawed man obtained God's approval.
