A few people have asked me, why do you take on authorities? Why do you not leave them alone, leave it behind, and get on in (relative) peace and safety? I have a picture before me as I write, of a police captain who was abusive towards one of the poor, an old woman who had a valid concern. He was pointing to his three stars, shouting: "I am a Captain!" She said: "Ja Kaptein. Ja Kaptein," and quietly left the police station. It is not just about me. It is about the poor. People don't seem to understand such reasoning, or they even denigrate it. I myself am in a position to say stop, you need to deal with people lawfully and decently. If one person says stop, it may bring about a reluctance for repeats. OBSERVATION: Many officials, including police captains, do in fact behave lawfully and decently.
