Silver Leaf Pod

I took this photo this morning of a silver leaf seed pod (Leucadendron argenteum). Recently an entire forest went up in flames -- then the seed pods, in defence, expelled their seeds. But a storm came up and swept the seeds away. A forester said to me this morning: "Look! Not a single seed! The ground was full of them." He said to me, too: "The mountain was closed for rehabilitation that day. Normally there would have been hundreds of people on the mountain. If not for God's knowing it, it would have been a disaster second to none." OBSERVATION: Silver leaf trees are "at very high risk of extinction".
