Influencing Meetings (Not)

In the Congregational Church, one has a Church Meeting, made up (potentially) of all the members. It is the only executive body in a Congregational Church. So how does one lead the Church Meeting? One could seek to influence the Meeting this way or that. This is not a good idea, because (among other things) they may have greater wisdom. One may seek to be completely neutral as Chair. But this won't be of much help to the Church. God has called and gifted one to help upbuild the Church. What I do is express my personal opinion, and my feelings, if I think it is important, but not to seek to sway the Church. If my opinion is good, they will recognise it. The Church needs full freedom to exercise its executive powers.
