Perusing Theses

I have mentioned that I advise students, particularly from developing nations, with their work -- from high school to postgraduate. It is really worthwhile, because I know that I make a difference to their work, and help them obtain good results -- usually distinctions. It is also worthwhile, because I learn so much about worlds beyond my own. In my own culture, one could not dream up what I read. For example, a number of theses have described cultural traditions by which one is expected to be ashamed, frightened, or isolated. This is fairly much the opposite of my own culture. OBSERVATION: I am careful to advise -- not to cross the line and do any work for anyone. What students do in the end must be completely their own work.
