Who to take into Church membership? I once had an exchange with a minister, as to whom to accept into the Church -- from the point of view of the views that they held. My own view is that we are not cliquish, clubbish, sectarian. We are defined by the fact that we belong to Christ -- which is bigger than the various views that we hold. Also, through the Spirit, the Body grows together over time. It can't have a common starting point. OBSERVATION: However, one does find people who are fixated with their distinctives, as though that were all that the faith is about. If they are selfish about their distinctives -- if self has priority over the Church -- then there could be a problem.
