Gender Based Violence

As I was reading the news this morning, in a towship some 300 miles east of Cape Town, a man outside punched a woman in the face, in the street, and she collapsed against a fence, in front of me. Her frock billowed on the grass as she fell. She was "out for the count" as a crowd of children gathered round. She is a good woman -- a neighbour of my hosts -- meticulously polite. OBSERVATION: This comes soon after The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. I inquired whether she is OK. Just beside herself, said the neighbours.
