Prize For Ingenuity

I discovered today that I won a publisher’s prize -- not that the publisher informed me. I read it in a magazine. The prize is a handheld oscilloscope, awarded for electronic ingenuity (the third oscilloscope I have won)! I designed an atmospheric charge monitor. These are fantastic predictors of weather -- not least of lighting strikes. Strangely, people seem to give far more attention to wind speed, temperature, and such things, while atmospheric charge is hardly ever heard of. OBSERVATION: I once recorded this thunderstorm building in Cape Town (see graph), with an atmospheric charge monitor. Thanks to the sponsors of my prize, http://www.picotech.com/.
