Robust Ministers

It has been said that ministers, considering that they are dealing with sick people all the time, seem to suffer remarkably little illness. It has been said, too, that this may be due to their constant exposure to illness, which immunises them against it. According to a paper by Haitung King and John C. Bailar, ministers have their problems (stress being a big one), but there is "a very low rate for non-degenerative diseases". That would seem to agree with my own experience. OBSERVATION: My mother-in-law quotes an African proverb: "If you are scared of a sickness, you will catch it." It has been suggested that perhaps this is why South Africa was not hard hit by COVID-19. Crowding had already exposed people to sicknesses related to COVID-19.
