Foundations

This week wife E. and I saw the beginnings of a small cottage on our plot in Tesselaarsdal (pictured). It is to have two small rooms with a kitchenette and bathroom(ette), a small balcony (the section seen on the right), and an attic. There were two small snags at this stage. Although the plot is within catapult shot of the village's central café, it is too far from a water connection, and the builder needs water. I need to figure out how to pump water from the stream on the opposite boundary of the plot. And then, casting the foundations has been delayed because the builder, off his own bat, shifted the foundations over the building line to keep the sump above the flood-line. The municipality needs to okay this. OBSERVATION: We were in a quandary: we needed to move a huge household fast, so we stored tons of goods in cabins on the plot, which then twice were plundered. After considering various options, we decided to step on it with building.
