Candlelight Welcome

The first time I stayed with farm labourers. I arrived after dark -- and was welcomed with a candle and a steaming mug of tea (pictured). That night, the temperature dropped below zero, and snow fell on the mountains. Needless to say, the labourers had no electricity. Nor were there other "necessities" -- such as doors, or a privy. The visit was a great pleasure.
