The Goodness Of The People

According to the Gini Index (pictured), South Africa is one of the most unequal societies in the world. The lowest that this index goes is 66. In 2011, South Africa scored 63.4 on the index, which represents a significant drop even during the new order. Why then does the country hold together to the extent that it does? I believe it is to a large extent the theology of the people. In my experience, this is a theology of faith, hope, and love, and it is widespread. Also, there is no theology of revolt, as there has been historically in extreme situations. OBSERVATION: I think that South Africans tend to underestimate the goodness of the masses.
