‘The Church Is Too Small’

This is a re-post -- on which I can now comment in retrospect: "I met with our associate pastor last week (on the right of the photo, with his wife) whose congregation worships in one of our halls (the biggest one). He said, 'The Church is too small.' He couldn't be referring to his congregation, I thought. It was too big. 'I mean,' he said, 'the walls are too small. We have grown so big that we are into overflow.' He put a proposal to us therefore, to use our sanctuary, rather than the hall." OBSERVATION: His congregation did move to our (cavernous) sanctuary. But the sanctuary was too big. They moved back to the hall. Size is often a question, for congregations. Should one go bigger or smaller?
