The Bible talks about the lizard that can be found in king's palaces (Proverbs 30:28). It seems to me a metaphor for ministry, as ministers have the privilege, like the lizard, of entering every kind of place. There is another, related privilege. Ministers are privy to the deepest recesses of people's hearts and minds. They may enter into places where even close companions do not go. It is not uncommon for someone to say to a minister: "I never told anyone that before." These, I think, are two very special aspects of ministry.
