This is an example of sanctification, which is what the Christian life is all about. Most years of my ministry, I have held an annual Thank-Offering. Often, people have included a note of thanks with their gift. One year, I received this note. It demonstrates a good spiritual understanding -- the paradox of suffering and thankfulness which is sanctification: "This is my Thanksgiving to the Lord, mostly for the challenges I am going through in life, because these challenges strengthen my relationship with my Lord. Thank you Lord for all.”
