Vigilante Law

I met one of my "friends through ministry" this morning. His hands were visibly shaking as he held a woollen cap to his mouth. He removed the cap to reveal a badly punched up mouth. He said it was the same with his back: "I have (showing me with his hands) a lump like this." He had made his bed in a public place, he said. It was unlawful. People called the police. The police didn't respond. So vigilantes stepped in. OBSERVATION: When the law does not or cannot respond, this does not mean that one is left without law. Rather, an alternative "law" kicks in -- often (at one and the same time) more tolerant and more brutal.
