Length Of Stay

A classic line in Churches is: "Do you know how long I've been here?!" Once, in a Church Meeting, someone asked me that question, completely forgetting that I had been there (with absences) for much longer. I said something like this in reply: "In a Congregational Church, we are all equal. It is a spiritual principle. The Holy Spirit speaks through each one, because each one is indwelt by the Holy Spirit." OBSERVATION: There are people who have done a lot for a Church, all the more so for having been there longer. One doesn't wish to offend them, and one is thankful for all that they have done -- or rather, how God has blessed the Church through them. However, in a Congregational Church -- in the gospel, too -- it doesn't carry weight.
