Faculty Boasts

This post is about how academics present themselves. Often, on a faculty page, an academic will write pages about himself, or herself. This morning I looked up my Systematic Theology professor in the USA (looking a bit older, I might add). There are twenty-eight pages about him: education, biography, courses, publications, awards, ordinations, and so on. Then I looked up my Systematic Theology professor in South Africa. He has this to say about himself, in full:

 D.Th.

OBSERVATION: That about seems to sum up the man, too: get the job done, do it efficiently, do it correctly, don't pay any attention to human accolades. In fact, in general this seems to be more typically South African.
