I took this photo of St. Helena Bay, a few hours’ drive to the north of Cape Town. The photo is unaltered -- it is as it came out of the camera. You may click on it to enlarge it a little. Enlargement further reveals a flock of birds. OBSERVATION: Vasco da Gama first set foot in South Africa in St. Helena Bay, on 7 November, 1497. The bay was named after St. Helena, the devout and influential mother of Constantine.
