On 23 October 2016, two elders and four deacons of my old Church in Sea Point, Cape Town, signed a letter to a government agency, confessing to "wrongdoing". It was about the audit -- which I had been saying all along was problematic. The agency handed it to the police. I spoke with the police about it in person, and was annoyed when they told me that the file had been tampered with (which could include the confession). I didn't believe the police -- but today I think they may have been sharper than me. OBSERVATION: I tried to discover, since then, through asking a few people gently and politely, whether the six signatures were genuine. I have not received an answer.
