Nonplussed

I am a little nonplussed after receiving the first feedback from a top flight editor, about my metaphysic (pictured). A PhD in the philosophy of ethics got back to me -- the principal consultant of a specialist editing team in Melbourne, Australia:
"I am left wondering what contribution you were hoping I could make. Your choice of language is very fine indeed, as is your ability to weave together ideas into a satisfying cohesion."
OBSERVATION: Well, it is nice to receive the vote of confidence, however this was the one reply I was not expecting. I remain of the opinion that a metaphysic is too ambitious a work to attempt alone. It has had editorial input before, but not as I think it should have. If anyone is interested in being the patron of this work, do get in touch.

Thomas, be honest. You're always nonplussed!

For the benefit of readers, the meaning of the word is "so surprised and confused that one is unsure how to react". Which brings to mind the words of Francis Bacon: "If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties."
