Take A Chance On People

I have, throughout my ministry, had the custom of "taking a chance" on people where I discerned that they had potential -- where others might have or did in fact say: "Not likely." In spiritual terms, I have looked first for what the Spirit was saying rather than looking for human competence. And I look back on this policy with gladness. OBSERVATION: My biggest "find" was at first a contested one. I proposed a woman as Church secretary who at the time was suffering panic attacks. But soon after accepting the call as Church secretary, the panic attacks left her, and she arguably became the most valuable person my Church had ever had. She still looks in to this blog from time to time.
