Après Moi

My late wife Mirjam ran a thriving Women's Association -- historically one of the Church's most influential groups. When she learnt that she was terminally ill, she told me that she would prepare the group for her absence, yet "après moi, le déluge." That is often translated something like "After me, disintegration." But for 2-3 years after her death, the group thrived (pictured), and for the first time in its history, became significantly mixed. And there was joy. It was après moi -- after me -- that it imploded. OBSERVATION: How would one prevent that? Looking back over the group's history, I think it would be through "theologians" at the helm. Women with a mission. I think of one in particular: Muriel Fysh.
