Article on Hope

On Monday, my article on hope (which I wrote on my birthday) was published by Pi. It has had a curious fate. While direct hits have been very ordinary in number, the readership of Pi, at this point, has jumped nearly 60% since publication (looking over the figures of the last month). OBSERVATION: For me personally, this was an important essay. I am surprised -- in fact perturbed -- by the emphasis in the comments on hope as a mere phenomenon. I knew that this is a more recent emphasis, and I noted it in my essay -- I just didn't realise how real it is. My own primary question is, "What hope is there for me?"

POSTSCRIPT: The jump in readership ultimately rose to 70.5%. Just 4.1% of the surge was due to direct hits, which means that the interest didn't originate in links (such as one on this blog). The greatest interest was in Hong Kong.
