Roman Catholics

I have had a lot to do with ministers' fraternals, and served for several years as fraternal chair. There is a curious relationship between Catholics and Protestants. Although Protestant Churches are mere Ecclesial Communities to Catholics, there was a strange kind of "recognition". The local priest lit up when he saw me, and we spoke as if we were old friends. It went as far as sharing services with Roman Catholic priests. Yet when we sent out fraternal invitations, the Roman Catholics stayed away, always -- while we kept on inviting them, always. OBSERVATION: I am reading the early history of Roman Catholicism.
