Magnetic Stones

This is a path on Table Mountain's lower slopes. What is interesting here is the brown pebbles, and I wonder whether anyone ever noticed it. When I designed my magnetometer a few years ago, I tried to test it on these paths -- but was prevented. The problem was magnetism in these stones. They are all over, with (almost) infinitely varied polarities. OBSERVATION: The photo is an example of how I sometimes get depth of field. I stitch together photos with varying focus.
