In South Africa, where one sees a Black and White marriage, one knows that the partners are adaptable, accommodating people. One is bringing together hundreds if not thousands of years of very differently developed cultures on both sides. It is not as if it were, say, America or Brazil. There is a 2010 South African movie, I Now Pronounce You Black and White. It is a comedy about cultural differences. In actual fact, the differences are far greater than the movie portrays. OBSERVATION: I had a head start, though. I was raised in the mission, in an old world society. And wife E, when we married, had about 15 years' experience of the city.
