Meta Manoeuvres

I posted five cheap ads through Meta in the last few days -- cheap being $10 each -- partly as an experiment to gauge what works where in the world. Each ad was checked and authorised by Meta in advance. Then someone launched multiple attacks on the ads, cracked and changed my password, and necessitated a browser reset on my computer: ads gone, account gone, browser disabled. OBSERVATION: Well done, whoever it was. Meta said the password changes came from Europe, in two locations. It's a mystery to me, but it is now all up and running again.

POSTSCRIPT: After a further, successful hack, Meta temporarily shut down my Facebook account.

I'd not be much inclined to buy anything advertised on Facebook. Many of their ads are obvious scams, and if you report them, they just show you more of them.
