I have given a great deal of thought to language as a reduction of the whole. I briefly produced an account of this in my major philosophy,
Everything, Briefly -- and a whole chapter's description of it in my next book,
This Town. It represents a new theory of language. We do not assemble language from various bits and pieces, but we begin with the whole, which we
reduce through language. Now recently a music professor in the United States prompted me to think about
music. I have a blizzard of new thoughts through this, not yet coherent.
