Philosophy Publishers

Recently I ran five philosophy publishers’ written output through computer analysis -- 30,000+ word samples -- which returned an appalling result. Only one (the Philosophy Sharing Foundation) scored better than nil for strength of style. Is philosophy exempted from good writing? Here are the most important results:

PUBLISHER: READABILITY | STRENGTH OF STYLE

Philosophy Sharing Foundation: Grade 12 | 6%
Philosophical Society of England: Grade 13 | 0%
Royal Institute of Philosophy: Grade 13 | 0%
Nature Philosophy: Grade 15 | 0%
Radical Philosophy: Grade 20 | 0%

OBSERVATION: The lower the grade, the better the writing, in general. So the Philosophy Sharing Foundation comes out best here as well. I would personally put good public philosophy at Grade 10 or lower. Grade 10 is already quite demanding.
