A Reckoning

My post titled "Highly Defamatory" is now into its third week at the top of my Popular Posts column on the right. I had heard the rumours -- namely, that I had committed a crime which carried a three-year jail sentence, that I had been criminally charged, and so on. However, Cape Town's Cluster (who police the police) formally investigated the matter. Capt. Althea Noemdo-Jeftha reported back on behalf of the Cluster: "You were never charged." And it went further than that. That report-back, of course, I still have. What happened in recent weeks is that all of this moved, from mere rumours, to evidence of defamation. An attorney, Mr. Clive Valentine, provided the original allegations, with signatures, to the Legal Practice Council. An advocate, Ms. Nompumelelo Nkomo-Mbanga, copied the material back to me. Now I have in hand the best hard evidence I ever had. OBSERVATION: There are three things I could do: I could do nothing, I could expose the matter (as I have done), or we could have a reckoning. With the original material now in hand, with signatures, it looks like a reckoning.
