Marriage in Mind

There's an article on the BBC this morning about a man whose wife passed away, and "I wasn't ready for what was out there." After my wife Mirjam passed away in 2011, I received continual "offers of love". As an example: "A loving and caring lady, I am interested in you. Loving and caring matters a lot in life." Well, yes -- however, I realised there was a determined band of young women (or whoever was behind them) doing diligent homework. I received about 50 such offers -- all of them clearly with marriage in mind. OBSERVATION: After two years, I married someone who made no offer at all -- in fact would rather have run away.

POSTSCRIPT: I received one "offer of love" on behalf of a young woman who was a member of a royal family. I had no idea that the woman I did finally marry was both on her father's side and on her mother's side of royal descent: Mpondo and Kwayi. The Kwayi, however, lost their royal status quite some time ago (and are seeking to have it restored).
