This was a particularly popular post that I inexplicably shelved. At the close of my city ministry, I was attacked in my robes, in the Church vestibule, and scratched from head ... almost to foot (I had shoes on). Apart from being badly hurt (I was thrown against large door fixings), I soon after suffered a host of maladies, going down several times with fevers. Doctors diagnosed Staphylococcus in the blood -- which is potentially serious. It turned out to be a resistant strain. On a third attempt, they cured me out -- mostly. But it was years before the Staphylococcus stopped hiding out in my system. OBSERVATION: It looked as though the scratches caused the Staphylococcus. At the time of the attack, I had health cover through the Church. They would not pay for any treatment linked to the attack, although they paid all other medical bills.
