When I bought my latest camera, I had to decide on a
lens. I decided on an 18 mm lens, which has a 90° field of view (a right angle). For me, this has proved itself in two ways. My photographs are
roomy (see the example), and composition needs to be more active -- which, I find, leads to better photos.
OBSERVATION: In fact I
rotated this photo, so that it is not a full 90° field of view. Incidentally, what do you notice about culture here?
CORRECTION: With an APS-C sensor, my 18 mm lens has a 76° field of view. It would be 90° with a full-frame sensor.
