This is a photo of a liquor store in South Africa. It shows that the store is protected by massive bars. In fact, take a look at the inner door in the background, and that, too, is protected by bars. This is not untypical. The reason for this? Ultimately, it can only have to do with a massive demand for anaesthesia in our society—so massive that there is a need for such fortification.
