Burrowing in Graves

I took this photo of a grave, on a farm in the Eastern Cape. Soil over a grave is softer than the surrounding earth, so that animals tend to burrow there. Therefore one typically places a sheet of corrugated iron over a coffin before one closes the grave, to prevent burrowing animals from getting down to the coffin.
